BECOME A ROTARIAN

Rotarians are business and professional leaders who take an active role in their communities while enriching their personal and professional lives.

Members are able to:

  • Effect change within the community;
  • Advance business and professional contacts;
  • Develop leadership skills;
  • Understand and impact on international humanitarian issues.

An important distinction between Rotary and other organizations is that in membership Rotary is by invitation. Rotary clubs invite individuals to join.

MEMBERSHIP PROCESS

We are always looking to expand the club with professional or business leaders who have the ability to get involved in service and humanitarian projects. The goal for our membership is an up-to-date and progressive representation of the community's business, vocational, and professional interests.

Membership is by invitation only and prospective members must:

  • Hold or be retired from a professional, proprietary, executive or managerial position;
  • Have the capacity to meet the club's weekly attendance or community project participation requirements;
  • Live or work within the locality of the club or the surrounding area.

Rotary uses a classification system to ensure we maintain a vibrant cross-section of community leaders and develop a pool of resources successfully implement service projects. Classification describes the principal business/service the Rotarian works for such as: high school, university, eye surgery, banking, pharmaceutical retailing, petroleum-distribution and insurance agency.

A person being considered for membership is often invited by a member/sponsor to attend one or more club meetings to learn more about Rotary. The sponsor may then submit the name of the candidate to the club's membership committee.

An individual who is interested in membership but doesn't know any Rotarians can contact their local club directly.
